Christmas Quotes to Set the Season

Christmas

So this is Christmas
And what have you done?
Another year over
And a new one just begun

And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

-John Lennon

Where does the time go? It seems like the whole year plods along like a marathon, and the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas suddenly rushes by in a sprint.

December 25th is just a few short weeks away now. I posted about being Thankful Beyond Thanksgiving and 10 Tips for Maintaining Mental Health Over the Holidays recently. Now I want to shift gears and celebrate my favorite holiday of the year.

Bing Crosby once sang, "I count my blessings instead of sheep". I don't take my blessings lightly. I've had over 40 years of storybook love with Barb, I have a son, a daughter, two granddaughters, a grandson, three brothers, a sister, an aunt, and a mom that I couldn't be prouder of or love a single ounce more. I recently lost my dad and oldest son but will still be blessed with holiday memories of them both.

I love the Christmas lights and the music (although I rebel at radio stations starting it just past Halloween). I love the joy of communicating with family and friends and continue to look forward to the Christmas list I get every year from my youngest granddaughter.

My faith makes Christmas especially moving for me, loading my blessings cart with more than enough to keep my spirits uplifted.

In honor of the Christmas season, I have handpicked these Christmas quotes, Bible verses, and even a few songs that all have special meaning for me. I hope you enjoy them.
